Jack discovered (to my dismay but his delight) that all shoes are not like gumboots and they do let the water in. Of course, the usual story, by the time he had made this discovery and I had noticed (3 nanoseconds) it was too late. Some very enthusiastic splashing had occurred and his shoes and pants were saturated.
