I just received an email from Elise who not only knew about the artist Ian Hamilton Finlay, whose work I was quite taken with at the gallery yesterday, but she also told me about his garden outside Edinburgh. Apparently he had a run in with his local council which makes my Dad and his Daisy sculpture protest look like small fries.

Well young lady I'll have you know that a tree was saved so how many trees did Dr Finlay's son,Ian, save?
